ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon to provide Level II trauma coverage for up to two weeks per month. The role includes 24/7 ER call coverage with PA support and limited outpatient clinic time. This position is ideal for an experienced trauma-trained orthopedic surgeon available for a 6–9 month locum engagement.

Dates & Schedule

• Start Date: December 25

• Initial Coverage Dates:

  • 12/25 (7a) – 1/1 (7a)

  • 7/1 (7a) – 7/15 (7a)

  • 8/8 (7a) – 8/15 (7a)

• Ongoing Coverage: Up to 2 weeks per month, based on internal physician schedule

• Duration: 6–9 months

• Setting: Hospital (ER/OR) and Outpatient Clinic (3 mornings per week, TBD)
  

• Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days

• FTE: 1.0

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 ER orthopedic coverage for a Level II trauma center, including consults, admissions, and surgical cases.

• Perform a full range of orthopedic procedures, excluding complex pelvic trauma.

• Participate in outpatient clinic approximately three mornings per week with MA and hospital support.

• Manage orthopedic emergencies (0–7 admissions or cases per day, varies by volume).

• Collaborate with dedicated PAs and multidisciplinary hospital staff.

• Utilize EPIC EMR for all charting and order entry.

• Coverage is needed due to provider resignation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon – Required

• Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery – Required

• Minimum 5 years of Level II Trauma experience – Required

• Washington State License – Preferred (IMLC with LOQ acceptable)

• BLS and DEA Certification – Required (or ability to obtain upon offer)

• Clean Malpractice History – Highly Preferred

• Must be available at time of name clear for credentialing.

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity trauma cases independently.
