Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for call-only coverage at its Level III trauma facility in Hancock, Michigan. This short-term locum assignment will support emergency department consults and urgent ortho cases. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with general orthopedic cases including fractures and sports injuries. Total joint experience is a plus but not required. No spine cases are involved. Orientation is required at 7AM on the first day of the assignment.
Job Responsibilities
Respond to ED consults as needed (minimal call-backs)
Perform bread-and-butter ortho procedures if required
Work in coordination with PAs and surgical staff
Participate in hospital orientation prior to start
Qualifications
Active Michigan Medical License, Michigan CDS, and DEA
Must be eligible for hospital privileges (temporary privileges available)
Prior trauma or emergency call experience preferred
Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred
Working Hours
Coverage: 24-hour call shifts daily
