Job description Orthopedic Surgery opening in Ohio Portsmouth, Oh Full time Practice Details: Work Schedule: Monday Thursday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Friday: 8:00 AM 11:30 AM No evening or weekend office hours Team Composition: 6 providers, 8 clinical staff (CMAs, LPNs, Ortho Techs), 4 front office staff, 2 surgery schedulers, radiology, and athletic training support Call Schedule: 1:4 rotation Patient Volume: Clinic: 25-40 patients/day Office procedures: Joint injections, aspirations, pin removals, cast application/removal Hospital procedures: 4-8 cases/day Clinical Opportunities: Sports Medicine: Lead and expand the sports medicine service line Perform advanced procedures including: Shoulder and knee arthroscopy Complex ligament reconstruction and revisions Meniscal debridement and repair Chondroplasty and cartilage restoration Rotator cuff and labral repairs Opportunity to add elbow and hip arthroscopy to the practice Trauma: Manage community trauma cases including: Long bone, periarticular, pediatric, periprosthetic, hand and foot fractures Proximal humerus and hip fractures (common) Most complex trauma cases referred out Joint Replacement Surgery: Perform primary and revision arthroplasty of knee, hip, and shoulder Collaborate with fellowship-trained arthroplasty specialist Potential to add elbow arthroplasty services Hand Surgery: Current services: carpal and cubital tunnel release, compression neuropathy management, soft tissue mass excisions, thumb CMC arthroplasty Opportunities to expand into flexor tendon repair, Dupuytren s contracture, ligamentous wrist repair Pediatrics: Outpatient pediatric sports procedures preferred (no inpatient cases) Procedures including knee and shoulder arthroscopy, patellofemoral realignment, chondral lesion management, fracture care, benign lesion excision Foot & Ankle Surgery: Primarily handled by in-house podiatrists Collaboration welcomed for ankle arthroscopy, ligament repair/reconstruction, and chondral lesion management Spine: No spine surgery performed onsite Cases referred to regional neurosurgeons with on-site pain management support Facilities & Equipment: Office: Cast saw, X-ray Hospital: Computerized rooms, CPMs, patient lifts, air mats, Hana table, Wixon, Beach chair, peg board positioning devices, mini and standard C-arm About the Community: Portsmouth is a vibrant city celebrated for its rich history, strong community spirit, and beautiful natural surroundings.
