We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon for call-only locum tenens coverage at BayCare St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. This is a Level II Trauma Center that operates with the intensity of a Level I, requiring comfort with high-acuity trauma cases.
No clinic or outpatient work is involved—just inpatient call. The assignment is 7 days per month, providing flexible scheduling for experienced trauma surgeons looking to supplement their practice or transition into locums.

- Provide inpatient trauma call coverage only
- Respond to trauma and orthopaedic emergencies within 30 minutes
- Manage a broad range of orthopaedic trauma cases, including:
- Acetabular fractures
- Hemi-arthroplasty
- Fracture management
- External fixation
- Pinning procedures
- FL Medical License (Required)
- Board Certification in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery
- Fellowship Required
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Prior hospital trauma call experience strongly preferred
- Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma
- Must be licensed in Florida
- Experience with:
- Complex trauma procedures
- Joint repair/revision (hip, knee, shoulder)
- Spinal surgeries (cervical, thoracic, lumbar – with/without instrumentation)
- Tendon and peripheral nerve repair
- FL Medical License (Required)
- Board Certification in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery
- Fellowship Required
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Prior hospital trauma call experience strongly preferred
