Job description

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join a thriving, community-focused, hospital-based practice. Demand for orthopedic services continues to expand across the region. This role offers the unique opportunity to extend access, elevate patient care, and help shape an already high-volume practice supporting a service area of more than 125,000 people across Southeast Missouri.

As the area’s regional referral center—with a robust primary care network and a developing graduate medical education program including a local Internal Medicine Residency—physicians benefit from a strong, collaborative clinical community and opportunities to teach, mentor, and participate in academic initiatives if desired.

Practice Dynamics:

  • A balanced mix of Inpatient & Outpatient orthopedic cases.

  • Advancing robotic surgery capabilities with institutional support for growth.

  • 11 ORs with block time availability to optimize surgical scheduling and efficiency.

  • Shared call structure creating healthy work-life balance.

  • Experienced Advanced Practice Providers to support both clinic and hospital workflow.

  • Clinic conveniently located on campus for seamless patient care.

  • Commencement Bonus available.

Recruitment Package Awaits:

  • MGMA-competitive base salary plus attractive productivity incentives.

  • Robust benefits package for you and your family.

  • Commencement Bonus plus Student Loan Repayment Assistance.

  • CME support for professional development.

  • Relocation assistance to ensure a smooth transition.

Community Highlights in Poplar Bluff:

  • Only 2.5 hours from St. Louis, offering the perfect blend of community living with nearby urban access.

  • A vibrant, growing population with a familiar community, and a regional draw of 125K+.

  • Clean, safe, and family-friendly environment with strong civic engagement.

  • Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts—access to three scenic rivers, an 18-hole golf course, and countless recreational opportunities.

  • Adjacent to the Mark Twain National Forest, offering hiking, biking, camping, and year-round adventure.

  • Excellent public and private school options and a cost of living 15% below the national average.

  • Close-knit medical community with access to a local Internal Medicine Residency program, offering opportunities for teaching, collaboration, and academic involvement for those interested.
