Clinical Role:

- Assignment: Ortho call coverage for 6 days a month starting beginning August
- Setting: Inpatient
- Trauma Level: III
- Job Duties: Call, trauma call
- Not responsible, during the week, for rounding on the in pts. belonging to other docs. They will have to round on their own pts.
- Required Procedures: Only required procedures are standard on call cases for a level 3 semi-rural hospital
- Infections
- Fractures requiring urgent / emergent stabilization / compartment syndrome / hand injuries, not including neuro-vascular
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: There will be a PA on call with the locum’s doc and the PA generally takes the 1st calls from the floor and the pts
- Patients per Day: Weekend census can be 0-10, average 3-4. Consults / day = 0-3, rarely more, but I have had 6-7. Often don’t operate in the middle of the night.
- Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery - Required
- Active CO License - Required or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission)
- Active BLS, DEA – Required
