224 bed level II trauma Hospital in Williamsport, PA is looking for orthopedic surgery coverage. Please see the details below and let me know if you'd be interested.
SEARCH SUMMARY
Specialty: Orthotrauma
Start Date: ASAP / As soon as Credentialed
10-14 shifts per month
Coverage Needs Details: This position will work 3-7 days on (24hr coverage) in a rotating pattern with our current ortho trauma physician/medical director to secure coverage throughout the month. The attending surgeon would come to the hospital and may be asked to see our patients in our clinic.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
*Active PA License, will wait for PA License if needed.
*DEA Required: Yes
*Board Status: Board Certified
*Required Certifications: CPR
*Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 3
SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION
*24hr Call: Mon -Sun | 6a-6a
PAY RATE:
*4500/24 hours flat fee (no call-back)
JOB INFORMATION
*Typical Day: Morning rounds with the PAs around 6:00am then goes to either OR or clinic depending on the day. Monday: OR all day; Tuesday: OR block ; Wednesday: OR all day;
Thursday: Clinic all day; Friday: OR all day | On call for 24hrs during this week to help with ER patients.
*The PA will be the first response to any ER consult. They will examine the pt and send pics via cell phone to seek advice on how to proceed. They will call with anything that needs MD level of care. The PAs are on call 24hrs ever day as well.
*AVG Consults: 5 consults during the day | 3-5 during the night.
during night 2x per month.
You will have at minimum 1 or 2 PAs that support you that also work 7 days on/7 days off with 24 hr coverage.
*AVG Admissions While on Call: 3-5
*All ortho trauma consults go to the PA first and the PA will call the provider if needed.
*Procedures: ORIF Distal Radius; ORIF hip; ORIF humerus; Insert Intramedullary Nail; ORIF Clavicle; Irrigation/Debridement; Removal of Implanted Devices; ORIF Femur; Closed Reduction Radius/Ulna
*Travel Notes: We have a hospitality inn (hotel) on site of the hospital. So this is preferred lodging.
*EMR: Cerner/Epic
*Typical Cases Seen: From greatest to lowest volume - ORIF Distal Radius; ORIF hip; ORIF humerus
Insert Intramedullary Nail; ORIF Clavicle; Irrigation/Debridement; Removal of Implanted Devices; ORIF Femur; Closed Reduction Radius/Ulna
*APP/Midlevel Coverage Available | 1-2 will Support the Provider
*Time to Credential: 60-90 days
