Facility in Middlebury, VT is looking for an Orthopedic Sports Surgeon for locum coverage at level 3 trauma hospital.
6-8 surgeries per week. 2-3 days / week in clinic. 1-2 days (4-6 cases)/ week in OR. rotating schedule where 2 surgeons alternate weeks, with week 1 being Mon/Fri OR; Tues/Thurs clinic, and week 2 Mon/Wed clinic; Tues/Thurs OR. 20-25 patients per day.
Description of Assignment: General orthopedic clinical evaluation and management, and operative management of conditions as outlined: Management of low energy orthopedic trauma including wrist, ankle, knee, hip, fracture and tendon repairs. Procedures Preferred: Sports medicine experience; shoulder arthroscopy and rotator cuff repair, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction. Sports Fellowship is preferred but would also take general orthopedic surgeon. must be BC with AOS. 1:4 call coverage with support and supervision of APP staff during the daytime.
Docs work 32 patient-facing hours, with 8 hours assumed admin tasks. So that translates to a 10 hour day, 4 days per week.
There are 3 APPs to supervise and who provide assistance in the OR. The office support staff consists of nurses and MAs.
Approximately 2 days in clinic and 2 days in the OR per week.
EMR: EPIC
**MUST have Active VT license or IMLC.
**The most crucial dates needing coverage are Aug 23- Sept 1st and Sept 27-Oct 1.
