Trauma Surgeon – Level II Trauma Center

Nortek Medical is representing a confidential, physician-owned practice seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma Surgeon to join a Level II Trauma Center in Florida.

Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for traumatic injuries
• Participate in emergency general surgery and shared trauma call rotations
• Perform life-saving procedures in emergent, high-acuity situations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including critical care, orthopedic trauma, neurosurgery, and emergency medicine
• Engage in trauma quality improvement initiatives and trauma registry activities
• Support resident and medical student education (if applicable)
• Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery preferred
• Active Florida medical license (or eligibility)
• ATLS certification required (Instructor status preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment
Working Hours
• Rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Shared trauma call coverage
Skills
• Minimum 2 years post-fellowship experience in trauma or acute care surgery
• Prior Level II Trauma Center experience
• Familiarity with trauma registries, ACS verification standards, and quality improvement programs
