Job Responsibilities
• Manage orthopedic trauma cases, fractures, dislocations, and acute musculoskeletal injuries
• Perform general orthopedic surgical procedures and urgent interventions
• Respond to ED consults and inpatient orthopedic evaluations
• Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers for higher-level trauma when required
• Collaborate with anesthesia, OR staff, nursing, and hospital teams
• Accurately document care using Cerner EMR
• Maintain compliance with clinical quality, safety, and credentialing standards
Qualifications
• Completion of ACGME or AOA-accredited orthopedic residency
• Active California medical license
• DEA registration (required during credentialing)
• California fluoroscopy certification (required by start of coverage)
• Clean malpractice and credentialing history
• Must be actively practicing (not directly out of residency)
• Current NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days)
Working Hours
• Continuous 24/7 orthopedic surgery coverage
• Includes weekday, weekend, and holiday call
• Assignment-based locum schedule
