Job description
An experienced, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon is needed to provide locum coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in Washington. The role includes both inpatient trauma coverage and outpatient clinic responsibilities, with dedicated PA and hospital support.
Job Responsibilities
Cover the Emergency Department 24/7 during scheduled weeks.
Manage outpatient orthopedic clinic sessions (approx. 3 mornings per week).
Perform surgical interventions, consultations, and follow-up care.
Collaborate with hospital staff, physician assistants, and outpatient support teams.
Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient care coordination.
Qualifications
Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Trauma – REQUIRED.
Active WA state license or IMLC with LOQ in hand – REQUIRED.
BLS and DEA – REQUIRED (will consider candidates obtaining prior to start).
Minimum 5 years of Level II Trauma experience – REQUIRED.
Clean malpractice history preferred.
Working Hours
Outpatient clinic: approx. 3 mornings per week (Monday–Friday).
Coverage duration: 6–9 months, beginning November 17, 2025.
Weekend and holiday call required as scheduled.
Skills
Strong surgical and diagnostic capabilities.
Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
Ability to manage high-acuity trauma cases independently.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
