Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon to provide call-only coverage (no clinic duties). This is an excellent locum tenens opportunity at a high-acuity trauma center located in the heart of Tampa, FL.
- Provide orthopedic trauma call coverage during 7-day blocks per month
- Manage emergent trauma cases including acetabular fractures, hemi-arthroplasty, and external fixation
- Perform urgent orthopedic procedures as needed
- Beeper call response within 30 minutes
- Participate in both surgical interventions and inpatient rounds Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery – Trauma Fellowship Required
- Experience with:
- Acetabular fracture management
- Hemi-arthroplasty
- External fixation (Ex-Fixes), pinning, and fracture care
- Active Florida medical license – required
- BLS certification – required
- Must meet all hospital privileging standards Advanced orthopedic trauma procedures
- Fracture repair and revision
- Joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder – preferred)
- Spine procedures (cervical, thoracic, lumbar – with/without instrumentation)
- Percutaneous disc surgeryCall-Only Shifts: 24-hour beeper call, 7 days per month
- No clinic, no scheduled surgical shifts
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes
Job Responsibilities
Manage emergent trauma cases including acetabular fractures, hemi-arthroplasty, and external fixation

Qualifications
Experience with:
Acetabular fracture management
Hemi-arthroplasty
External fixation (Ex-Fixes), pinning, and fracture care
Active Florida medical license – required
BLS certification – required
Must meet all hospital privileging standards

Must be able to respond within 30 minutes
