Era Locums has a unique offering with a nationally renowned Orthopedic Institute seeking a fellowship trained Orthopedic Traumatologist to provide long term, full-time coverage starting June 20, 2024. This will be an ongoing 1099 locum contract, up to one year, or more.

Qualifications:
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma
• Clear and active license in NJ (or willingness to obtain state license)NOTE: New Jersey now accepts IMLC and we WILL assist and reimburse cost of license.

Job details:
• Preferable start: June 20, 2024. Full time, day shift schedule.
• Supporting level 2 trauma facility 4 days a week and clinic one day per week
• On call coverage is needed 6-7 days per month.
• Hospital rounding on 5-8 patients daily, 2-3 new consults per day
• Required Procedural Knowledge: Upper and lower extremity long bone fractures. Ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, wrist, and elbow periarticular fractures. Pelvic ring and acetabular fractures. Fasciotomy for compartment syndrome. Incision and drainage for extremity infections
• Support: Ortho PA (five days per week) to support in hospital (hospital rounding, ER & Floor consults, OR), Surgical clinical assistant to support in office; 24/7/365 General Surgery Trauma service/surgeon/physician assistant in house, Orthopedic subspecialty support in region includes (Spine, Sports, Total Joint, Hand & Wrist, Shoulder, Foot & Ankle surgeons)

Job Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic trauma injuries, including fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries.
Perform surgical interventions for complex trauma cases, utilizing advanced techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of patients.
Provide expert consultation and second opinions for challenging orthopedic trauma cases.

Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
Fellowship training in Orthopedic Traumatology from a recognized program.
Valid medical license or ability to acquire New Jersey Medical License(IMLC accepted)
Proven track record of excellence in diagnosing and treating orthopedic trauma injuries.
Proficiency in performing complex orthopedic trauma surgeries.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Working Hours

Full-time, M-F(clinic and hospital coverage)
Call coverage rotation(6-7 days a month)
