Seeking BC/BE Orthopedic Sports Medicine Physician for leadership opportunity in Cooperstown, New York
Position Highlights:
Leadership opportunity within integrated academic health system
0.7 FTE clinical / 0.3 FTE administrative role
Opportunity to shape orthopedic strategy and program growth across Central New York
Major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
Established orthopedic department including:
- 11 Orthopedic Physicians
- 2 Podiatric Surgeons
- 2 Podiatrists
- 13 Physician Assistants
Comprehensive orthopedic subspecialties including:
- Sports Medicine
- Total Joint
- Spine
- Trauma
- Shoulder and Upper Extremity
- Foot and Ankle
Strong focus on orthopedic service line expansion and musculoskeletal program growth
Active clinical practice combined with administrative leadership responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Maintain active orthopedic sports medicine clinical practice
Provide strategic leadership for orthopedic service line growth
Expand musculoskeletal and joint replacement programs
Oversee staffing, workflows, and clinical operations
Lead physician recruitment, retention, and development
Drive quality, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives
Manage operational and financial performance
Collaborate with executive and operational leadership teams
Maintain integrated, patient-centered care delivery across the health system
Qualifications:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship training in Sports Medicine preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Active New York license or ability to obtain
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive compensation range: $838,250 - $1,093,166
Sign-on bonus up to $200,000
Transition stipend of $10,000
