Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Opportunity in Galena, KS / Joplin, MO
Position Overview:
Seeking a Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon to join a high-performing, established orthopedic team serving two nearby campuses. This is an excellent opportunity to build a robust sports medicine practice with strong community engagement and access to advanced surgical and rehabilitation resources.
Practice Details:
Full-time employed position
Join an established team of 10 orthopedic surgeons
Practice across two campuses located approximately 15 minutes apart
Collaboration with Family Medicine/Sports Medicine physicians
Coverage opportunities for local high schools and youth athletics
Established Concussion Clinic with strong patient demand
APP support including PAs and NPs
System-wide Epic EMR
Clinical Responsibilities:
Perform a full range of sports medicine orthopedic procedures
Provide comprehensive preoperative, operative, and postoperative care
Support and expand sports medicine outreach programs
Collaborate with athletic trainers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in community engagement through local sports coverage

Requirements:
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship training in Sports Medicine
Eligible for Kansas and/or Missouri medical license and DEA registration
Strong clinical and surgical skills
Interest in community engagement and sports coverage preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
$650,000 income guarantee
$50,000 recruitment bonus
Up to $20,000 relocation assistance
$5,000 annual CME allowance
4 weeks PTO plus 6 holidays and CME days
