A Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician is sought for a full-time opportunity in Alma, Michigan, with a satellite clinic location in Clare, Michigan. This position is ideal for an experienced physician or a graduating fellow looking to join a well-established sports medicine practice focused on non-surgical musculoskeletal care.
Position Overview
* Full-time outpatient sports medicine practice
* Primary clinic location in Alma with satellite coverage in Clare
* No call responsibilities
* Replacement position for a departing provider
Schedule
* Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
* Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Practice Focus
The sports medicine physician will focus on the diagnosis, management, and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders in patients of all ages. Scope of care includes:
* Acute injuries such as sprains, strains, contusions, and joint pain
* Non-surgical fractures and dislocations
* Chronic and overuse injuries
* Sports-related medical conditions
* Concussion evaluation and management
* Diagnostic and procedural ultrasound
* Restorative medicine
* Performance and arts medicine
When surgical intervention is necessary, the physician will coordinate and expedite referrals to orthopedic or subspecialty surgeons.
Qualifications
* MD or DO degree (U.S. medical degree or foreign equivalent)
* Board eligible or board certified
* Completion of a Family Medicine residency
* Completion of a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship
* Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Michigan
* Eligible for a Michigan Controlled Substance License
