Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) to join our established orthopedic practice in Paramus, NJ. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our team of chiropractors and orthopedic specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. This role requires a strong background in orthopedic medicine, excellent diagnostic skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. This position will be responsible for covering our North Bergen, Paramus & Livingston NJ Locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Patient evaluation & diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams, diagnose a variety of Orthopedic conditions
Joint disorders, ligament & tendon tears, spinal disorders and other soft tissue conditions
-Treatment planning ,development of individualized treatment plans based on a patients diagnosis,
lifestyle & overall health
-Treatment plans should be inclusive of surgical options & non surgical interventions including but not
limited to- physical therapy, pharmacological management & patient education.
- Discuss the risks and benefits of surgical interventions with patients & provide pre-surgical
counseling.
Surgical Procedures:
- Perform a wide range of Orthopedic procedures including but not limited to joint arthroscopy,
tendon/ligament repairs, minimally invasive spinal injections, minimally invasive vascular procedures
and be willing to learn any other procedures that the practice offers.
- Utilize minimally invasive techniques to reduce recovery times & complications
- Manage all surgical interventions ensuring patient safety at all times
- Act as the leader in the Operating Room (OR) providing guidance to the surgical team while ensuring
compliance with standards of care
Patient Rehabilitation:
- Manage post operative care, monitor for complications and adjust treatment plans as necessary
using services provided by NexGen.
- Work closely with physical therapist and other healthcare professionals to guide the rehabilitation
process post surgery or injury.
- Plan & execute disease prevention and health promotion
-Educate patients on exercises stretching and lifestyle changes to promote recovery & future
injuries.
Team Collaboration:
- Contribute positively to a respectful and supportive work environment
- Work together with the clinical team to discuss patient treatment plans and procedures
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate & up to date documentation for all patient interactions & treatments
- Reviews interdisciplinary team documentation to ensure alignment with the care plan
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completed residency in orthopedic surgery
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., sports medicine, spine surgery) is preferred but not required.
Working Hours
Surgical Center/Hospital hours vary depending on patient volume on those select days.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of results
- Ability to work with collaborating medical professionals in interpreting diagnostic images & results
- Excellent communication skills, ability to execute procedure discussions
- Strong technical trouble shooting skills to address equipment issues
- Proficiency in performing diagnostic procedures & corrective surgical procedures
