Overview:

St. Mary’s Healthcare is actively seeking a Board-Certified Spinal Surgeon to join our expanding Orthopedic Surgery team in Amsterdam, NY. As part of a comprehensive musculoskeletal program, you’ll work collaboratively with fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation specialists, and primary care providers to deliver advanced, patient-centered spinal care. Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range - $751,448 - $961,832 (commensurate with experience).

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of spinal disorders, including degenerative conditions, deformities, trauma, and tumors.
• Perform advanced spinal procedures utilizing minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques to enhance precision and patient recovery.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, pain management specialists, physical therapists, and primary care providers, to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment options, surgical procedures, and postoperative care to ensure informed decision-making and adherence to care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in spinal surgery.

Qualifications

Required Credentials - Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery with specialized training in Spinal Surgery. New York State Medical License (or eligibility to obtain).
Preferred Experience - Proficiency in robotic-assisted spinal surgery and other minimally invasive techniques is preferred but not required.
Education - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of an accredited Spinal Surgery Fellowship.
Skills - Ability to manage complex spinal disorders and perform a high volume of spinal procedures.
