We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgery Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Waterloo (Primary) and Cedar Falls (Secondary).
📍 Coverage Type: On-Call Only (No Clinic Responsibilities)
📅 Required Coverage Blocks:
• Wednesday, August 5 at 7:00 AM – Monday, August 10 at 7:00 AM
• Monday, October 26 at 7:00 AM – Friday, November 6 at 7:00 AM
(Must be able to cover both blocks)
Job Responsibilities
Inpatient + Call coverage at both locations
Reason: Vacation / Time-Off Coverage
Medical Staff Membership Required
No outreach, no telehealth
4 Physicians + 4 APPs on staff
No supervision of APPs required
Average Daily Census: 10–20 (combined)
Patient Population: All ages
EMR: Epic (Enterprise)
Medical Imaging, Lab & Pharmacy available
Qualifications
Comprehensive orthopedic care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for conditions affecting:
Extremities, spine, hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow
Trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances
Degenerative diseases & deformities
Primary and secondary musculoskeletal disorders
Physician may:
Provide ICU care per unit policies
Assess and stabilize emergent cases
Participate in emergency and consultative call services
✅ Requirements (All Required):
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Active Iowa License OR Active IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)
Fellowship Trained (Orthopedic Surgery)
Must be experienced
Must cover both listed date blocks
Clean malpractice & background history
NPDB report (pulled within the last month)
