We are seeking an experienced Locum Orthopedic Surgeon for a high-volume, well-supported orthopedic service in Mason City. We are seeking an experienced Locum Orthopedic Surgeon for a high-volume, well-supported orthopedic service in Mason City. This role offers a robust surgical mix, dedicated OR time, and strong APP/nursing support—ideal for surgeons who enjoy both elective and trauma orthopedics with predictable clinic hours and call coverage. 🌟
Job Responsibilities
• Perform orthopedic surgical procedures including total joint replacements
• Provide inpatient rounding, ED and trauma consults
• Participate in 24-hour orthopedic call with follow-up clinic care
• Manage post-op care and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise APPs as needed
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active Iowa license or IMLC eligibility
• Proven experience in joint replacement and trauma orthopedics
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Ability to cover required coverage blocks
Working Hours
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (clinic)
• 24-hour call coverage during assignment dates

• Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot procedures
• Trauma and fracture care
• Sports medicine and general orthopedics
• EPIC EMR proficiency
