Orthopedic Surgeon Locum Opportunity (Kentucky)

Mercy Health Lourdes is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide surgical coverage and hospital call support for backfill coverage with potential ongoing needs. The position includes 24-hour emergency call shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, covering adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations.

The provider must be experienced in hip nailing procedures and comfortable managing orthopedic trauma and general orthopedic cases. Responsibilities include treatment of fractures, dislocations, amputations, bone and joint deformities, and tumors, as well as performing total joint replacements and revisions for hip, knee, and shoulder. The role also includes spinal surgery (with and without instrumentation) and arthroscopy procedures. The facility utilizes the EPIC EMR system.

Submission Requirements

• Board Certified – Required

• Active Kentucky Medical License – Required (IMLC accepted)

• Active DEA – Required

• BLS Certification – Required

• Orthopedic Fellowship – Preferred

• Experience with general surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures – Required

• Experience with hip/knee replacement procedures – Required

• Experience with hip/knee repair or revision procedures – Required

• Arthroscopy experience – Required

• Ability to perform hip nailing procedures – Required

• Clean Background – Required

• Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation – Required

• COVID Vaccination – Preferred
