Part Time Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Opportunity in Southeast Alaska
Position: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Location: Juneau, AK
Setting: Outpatient & Surgical
Opportunity Highlights:
Perform oral and maxillofacial surgeries, including disease treatment, injury repair, and defect correction
Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions
Supervise and instruct General Dentistry Residents during specialty clinics
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and resident program leadership to enhance patient care
Opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
Administer general and local anesthetics for surgical procedures
Evaluate wisdom teeth positioning and determine potential issues
Perform surgical procedures to prepare for dental implants and aid in tissue regeneration
Remove impacted, damaged, and non-restorable teeth
Treat infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaws, and neck
Remove tumors and abnormal growths in the oral and facial regions
Provide clinical education and mentorship to dental residents
Requirements:
Education: DDS or DMD from an accredited university
Licensure: Active U.S. dental license (Alaska license preferred)
Certification: Board Certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience preferred
- Experience in clinical teaching preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Strong diagnostic and clinical judgment skills
Excellent hand dexterity and surgical expertise
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to teach and mentor in both classroom and clinical settings
Knowledge of infection control techniques and dental disease treatments
