Job description New Ophthalmology Locums Job l Washington DC

Coverage needed for multiple Ophthalmologists to cover Monday-Friday ongoing. Coverage is needed from April-June with possibility to extend to July.

Daily hours: 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday

Coverage needed in Cornea, Comprehensive, Glaucoma.

Details/Requirements for Assignment #112963:
*Active DC license or active IMLC and Board certification required
*Must have a clean background (no active malpractice litigation)
*Will cover clinic as well as hospital calls-residents take 1st call and will reach out to the attending physician on call to review the call. Call is prioritized and patients for clinic or surgery will be moved to cover call if needed.
*Will typically see clinic 4 days per week and have one day per week of surgery
*Searching for THREE locum tenens providers
*Hospital is a level I trauma hospital. must be comfortable with trauma
*Will teach and support residents
*Will see 30-40 patients per day depending on specialty
*EMR EPIC and there is no scribe support

Additional Details Cornea:
--Able to do lasers and cataract surgeries and minor procedures
--Familiarity with diagnostic imaging tools, visual fields, EMR, and specialized ophthalmic surgical equipment (i.e. PHACO machine)
--Expertise in corneal transplants (DMEK, DSAEK, PK), collagen cross-linking, pterygium removal, and refractive surgeries (LASIK/PRK)
--Ability to manage complex corneal diseases, infections, and dry eye
--Ability to perform high-level manual dexterity for delicate microsurgery

Additional Details Glaucoma:
--Able to do lasers and cataract surgeries and minor procedures
--Familiarity with diagnostic imaging tools, visual fields, EMR, and specialized ophthalmic surgical equipment (i.e. PHACO machine)
--Specialized fellowship training in glaucoma, focusing on complex glaucoma cases and advanced surgical techniques like trabeculectomies/glaucoma shunts and perform minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries(MIGS).
--Ability to manage complex or advanced Glaucoma
--Ability to develop personalized, long-term treatment plans, including medical, laser, and surgical options
