An Optometrist is needed in Marion, OH

This position is with a community-based, nonprofit organization committed to their patients and provides a wide array of services to meet the needs of their community.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 to $140,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Sign-On Bonus - $12,000 paid out over 12 months ($1,000 a month)

Responsibilities

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (8am-4:30pm), paid lunch break
  • Provide comprehensive eye exams to an average of 12–13 patients per day (64 patients per week)
  • Diagnose and manage vision conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and glaucoma
  • Prescribe eyeglasses and medications as needed
  • Educate patients on eye care and vision correction options
  • Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system (EHR)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the facility
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and operational
  • Refer patients to ophthalmologists or specialists as needed

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution
  • Active optometry license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a practicing optometrist
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
