Ophthalmologist (New Graduates Accepted) - Bilingual in Chinese & English

Location: New York, NY

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Day shift

Setting: Outpatient / Clinical Practice

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmologist fluent in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) and English to provide comprehensive eye care services to a diverse patient population. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of ocular conditions while delivering culturally sensitive, patient-centered care.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular diseases and disorders

  • Provide medical and surgical treatment for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy

  • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and individualized treatment plans

  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations for ophthalmic procedures

  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and imaging technologies

  • Educate patients and families on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients in both Chinese and English

  • Adhere to ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and healthcare regulations

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution

  • Completed residency training in Ophthalmology

  • Valid and unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology (preferred)

  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) and English (spoken and written)

  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with multicultural patient populations preferred

  • Subspecialty training (Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, Pediatric Ophthalmology) is a plus

  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
