Seeking a Locum Tenens Ophthalmologist to provide outpatient-only coverage in Michigan. This long-term vacancy offers a consistent Monday–Sunday schedule with no call and no inpatient responsibilities.
Qualifications
• Provider Type: Physician (MD/DO)
• Board Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Ophthalmology
• Licensure: Michigan license required (no reimbursement for licensing)
• EMR: Epic
• Certifications Required: BLS
• Hospital/Surgery Center Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges: Not available
• Estimated Credentialing: ~90 days
Working Hours
• Feb 2, 2026 – June 2026
• Daily shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Coverage includes weekdays and weekends
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic
Patients per shift: ~20
Department Beds: Eye lanes
Call: None
Rounding: N/A

• Non-surgical ophthalmology

• YAG
• Intraocular injections
• Interpretation of OCT, A/B-scan ultrasound, photos, and fluorescein angiography
• Cataract extraction (various approaches)

• Corneal surgery
• Refractive (LASIK/PRK)
• Plastics/orbital surgery
• Strabismus
