Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids based on patient needs.
Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with state and practice standards.
Stay current with advances in optometric care and technology through ongoing education and training.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry degree
State-issued license to practice optometry
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to stay current with changes in the field
