Job description
- A community hospital in Damariscotta, ME is seeking a Board-Certified Surgical Ophthalmologist for a full-time locum position. The need arises from an unexpected provider leave. Providers interested in part-time or fractional coverage will also be considered. This is a no-call, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) role in a collaborative and well-supported clinical setting.
Job Responsibilities
• Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments
• Deliver high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary environment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital protocols
Qualifications
• Active Maine Medical License or IMLC Eligibility – Required
• Surgical Experience (especially cataracts, eyelid surgery) – Preferred
Working Hours
• No weekend or on-call duties
• Start date: ASAP through end of the year
Skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to adapt to locum environments
