Job Opportunity: Neuro-Ophthalmologist

Join our esteemed Hauenstein Neurosciences Team based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, known for being the area's most comprehensive and well-established Neuroscience Program. Our facility specializes in advanced treatment for various nervous system conditions using state-of-the-art technology, offering a compassionate focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit. As West Michigan’s only Neuro-Ophthalmology program, we provide unparalleled care in diagnosing and treating visual problems related to the nervous system.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive Neuro-Ophthalmological evaluations and medical assessments of diseases that impact visual pathways and eye movements.
  • Diagnose and treat visual problems associated with the nervous system and unexplained or sudden vision loss.
  • Conduct neuro-ophthalmologic tests, including visual acuity assessments, visual field tests, and optical coherence tomography.
  • Educate patients and families comprehensively about their conditions and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate within a strong interdisciplinary model of care, working alongside RNs, MAs, Neuro-Ophthalmology technicians, and more.
  • Participate in general neurology visits as your practice expands.
  • Embrace a commitment to continuous growth in Neuro-Ophthalmology practices and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree required.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified (must be board certified within 2 years of becoming board eligible).
  • Strong interest in and commitment to Neuro-Ophthalmology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Current medical license in Michigan or willingness to obtain one.
  • DEA certification or willingness to obtain.
  • BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Clean malpractice history.
