See why this is such an attractive opportunity-

A well-established, growing, comprehensive ophthalmology practice in beautiful Roseburg, Oregon seeks a board certified/board eligible ophthalmologist. The position will be primarily comprehensive ophthalmology, but there is opportunity to practice some subspecialty care if desired. This is a full time position with the intention of leading to partnership if so desired by the candidate.

· $400,000 salary plus $40,000 sign-on bonus, benefits including 401(k) and pension profit sharing plan.

· The practice has state of the art equipment, including a Heidelberg Retinal Tomographer, topographer, Lenstar, Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer, YAG and argon lasers, and Topcon touchscreen autorefractor. One of the ASCs used by the practice has a femtosecond laser.

· All of the technicians in the practice are excellent refractionists

· On-call duties are shared equally by all the ophthalmologists in the community, with very infrequent calls.

Roseburg is a popular retirement community and has a large patient population for its size. Roseburg and its surrounding area have a catchment area of about 150,000. It is large enough to have a Costco, but still has small town charm. Exquisite natural beauty and outdoor activities abound in Roseburg. Hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, running, tennis, skiing (alpine and cross-country) are readily available. We have an active theater community, many fine and performing arts activities for children and adults, and free concerts and movies in the parks. We are 1.5 hours drive from the beautiful Oregon coast, and 1-2 hours to cross country and downhill skiing. The larger communities of Eugene and Medford are a quick and easy 1-hour drive, and have airports with short direct flights to major western/central US cities. Roseburg has an excellent and rapidly growing wine industry. We have a superb community college that has an enology and vintner program. The public schools are top notch (several public school students have gone on to Ivy League colleges), and there are multiple private school options. You will not find a better community in which to raise a family or enjoy nature. The cost of living is low, and compensation is high.

Board certified or board eligible MD/DO ophthalmologist. Must have the ability to be credentialed with government and other third party payers. Must be eligible to obtain hospital privileges and Oregon state medical licensure.
