Job Title: Glaucoma Ophthalmologist

Location: Glenbrook, Skokie, IL

NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal academic affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks an outstanding Glaucoma subspecialist to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology. NorthShore is a comprehensive, fully-integrated healthcare delivery system that includes nine hospitals – Edward/Elmhurst, Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, Skokie Hospital, Swedish Hospital, and Northwest Community Hospital.

NorthShore’s state-of-the-art Eye and Vision Center is the largest multi-specialty Ophthalmology group on the north shore of Chicago. Join a team comprised of dedicated faculty that provides a multitude of patient services in all ophthalmic subspecialties.

  • 13 Ophthalmologists and Optometrists
  • 1 Glaucoma subspecialist
  • 9 Comprehensive Ophthalmologists, most with subspecialty training.

Our supporting staff is outstanding, dedicated, and well-trained. The Medical Group utilizes Epic for medical records. Our Ophthalmic clinic equipment includes HFA units, Spectralis and Cirrus OCT, Ellex SLT / YAG lasers, PASCAL retina laser system, Optos fundus cameras, Goldmann Visual Field, and IOL Master 700. Our surgery center, located at Glenbrook hospital, is equipped with Centurion phacoemulsification machines, ORA intraoperative aberrometry system, and Zeiss Artevo microscopes with Callisto and Intraoperative OCT capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Excellent clinical and surgical skills
  • Ability to connect with patients
  • Desire to teach Ophthalmology residents, interns, and medical students.
  • Clinical research is also encouraged but not required. T
  • Entails Comprehensive Glaucoma clinic responsibilities primarily at two of our locations. The call for the clinic and the emergency department is evenly distributed among colleagues.
