Radiation Oncology Physician Jobs – Locum Tenens in Tyler, Texas
Board-certified Radiation Oncology Physician needed for a short-term locum tenens opportunity in Tyler, Texas. Provide outpatient radiation oncology care for approximately 30 patients per day with support from an experienced clinical team and advanced radiation therapy technology.
Locum Tenens Physician Job Details

- Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break
- Patient Volume: Approximately 30 patient encounters per shift
- Clinical Resources: Two Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and one CT simulator
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,270–$7,420, based on applicable weekly scheduling
Radiation Oncology Physician Requirements
- Board certification in Radiation Oncology is required
- At least 1 year of relevant radiation oncology physician experience
- Active physician license eligible for practice in Texas
- Current BLS certification
- Fellowship training in Radiation Oncology
- Clinical proficiency with linear accelerator-based radiation therapy
- Experience with RapidArc/VMAT, electron therapy, conventional and conformal therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, hyperfractionation, and treatment planning
- Competency with MLC beam shaping, 3D conformal radiation therapy, PET/CT or MRI image fusion, and electronic portal imaging
Radiation Oncology Physician Responsibilities
- Conduct new patient consultations and develop appropriate radiation treatment plans
- Perform follow-up appointments and on-treatment visits
- Complete verification simulations and review treatment plans
- Provide safe, evidence-based care for patients receiving external beam radiation therapy
- Collaborate with radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, and nursing staff
- Document clinical evaluations, treatment decisions, and patient progress accurately
