Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens Radiation Oncology opportunity in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is based in a comprehensive, hospital-attached cancer center providing both outpatient and limited inpatient radiation oncology services.
The position offers a Monday–Friday day schedule with no call, strong APP and physician support, and access to advanced radiation therapy technologies. This opportunity is ideal for radiation oncologists experienced in modern external beam radiation techniques, stereotactic procedures, and multidisciplinary oncology care.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage limited inpatient radiation oncology rounding as needed
• Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans
• Perform and supervise advanced radiation therapy procedures
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests
• Prescribe radiation therapy and related medications
• Collaborate with medical oncology, surgical oncology, and tumor boards
• Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers
• Document all patient care in the EMR
• Maintain compliance with oncology and radiation safety standards
Qualifications
• Active Michigan medical license
• BLS certification
• Clean background and malpractice history
• NPDB self-query within required timeframe
• Experience with comprehensive cancer center workflows preferred
Working Hours
• Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• No call
• No weekend coverage
