Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) is recruiting a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join our team at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, Washington.
The ideal candidate is experienced with all radiation modalities including IMRT, SBRT, and is motivated to help grow radiation services as part of VMFH’s community practice service in the Puget Sound area of Washington. Additional experience with HDR brachytherapy, clinical program development, quality improvement, and accreditations is preferred.
VMFH Cancer Care represents a system of oncology services distributed across Western Washington, including 10 hospitals. We provide fully integrated cancer care supported by Hematologist/Oncologists, Surgeons, Pulmonologists, Radiologists, Pathologists and Primary Care. Our cancer programs are accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.
The VMFH Radiation Oncology service has multidisciplinary patient clinics, multidisciplinary site specific prospective tumor boards and actively participates in NCI and industry sponsored clinical trials. Our locations include the specialty site at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, along with community based locations at St. Anne’s Hospital in Burien, St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, and St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale, WA.
VMFH system-wide Radiation Oncology offers Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT/VMAT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), LDR and HDR prostate brachytherapy, High Dose Rate brachytherapy, and Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRS/SBRT).
This site is accredited by the American College of Radiology. This candidate will become part of an experienced Radiation Oncology team that includes ABR certified Radiation Oncologists, most with over 10 years’ experience, ABR certified PhD Physicists, medical dosimetrists, registered nurses, radiation therapists and documentation and coding support. Equipment at our various sites includes: RayStation treatment planning system (TPS), Varian Eclipse (TPS), Radformation contouring & chart verification system, Brainlab radiosurgery TPS, VariSeed TPS (prostate seed implants), Varian GammaMedPlus HDR Brachytherapy (BrachyVision TPS), Varian Accelerators (TrueBeam, EDGE with Exac Trac patient monitoring system), MiM image registration tool, SDX breath-hold system, Varian RGSC breath hold system, Mosaiq and ARIA EMR, and Record/Verify system, and GE 16-slice 4DCT scanners/simulators.
Job Requirements
- Successful completion of residency training in an ACGME accredited program.
- Board Certified/Eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Medical Specialties
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of Washington
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
- Ideal candidate is three plus years post residency
- Proven ability to work in an integrated multidisciplinary environment
- Has a commitment to patient and team-centered medicine
- Has outstanding interpersonal relationships with peers, administrators and staff
- Has an interest in community-based radiation oncology within a highly integrated system

Pay Range
$503,136 - $602,927 /year
