Job Title: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

As a Medical Physicist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of radiation oncology programs, all while working in a supportive environment that values your contributions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of all radiation measurements in all radiation oncology programs through periodic checks and records maintenance.
  • Participate in ongoing meetings and chart reviews for procedural accuracy.
  • Oversee brachytherapy procedures for safety, accuracy, and record maintenance.
  • Assure accurate commissioning of radiation equipment and calibration.
  • Contribute to administrative functions such as NRC documentation and department policy reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Medical Physics – REQUIRED
  • Current certification by the American Board of Radiology – REQUIRED
  • Successful completion of Part I and II of the American Board of Radiology certification exam within 3 years of hire – REQUIRED
  • One year of experience as a medical physicist in a cancer treatment setting – REQUIRED
  • Experience in a Varian treatment environment – HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Preferred experience in external beam treatment planning including SRS, SBRT, IMRT, and 3DCRT
  • Preferred experience with brachytherapy treatment planning and Sun Nuclear quality assurance devices
  • Preferred experience with 4D CT and gated radiation therapy and Vision RT/OSMS

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Medical Physics
  • Current certification by the American Board of Radiology
  • Completion of certification exam within the specified time
