Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist Location: Findlay, OH Hybrid Set-up A healthcare system in Findlay, Ohio is seeking a Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join their team. The senior physicist will play a key role in planning and delivering safe, precise, and effective radiation treatments for cancer patients while supporting a collaborative oncology team. Position Overview • Develops and implements radiation treatment plans using advanced imaging and computer calculations • Ensures patients receive accurate and safe radiation doses • Maintains and calibrates radiation oncology equipment and performs quality assurance (QA) testing • Researches and develops new treatment options and safety procedures • Advises on radiation safety and oversees regulatory compliance • Participates in teaching and mentoring other team members • Serves as a Certified Radiation Expert Schedule • Full-time: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM • On-site presence 3 days/week with 2 days remote (40 hours/week) • Part-time option available: on-site 2 days/week plus additional remote hours as needed (up to 20 hours/week) • Coverage for colleagues’ vacation or sick time Required Qualifications • Master’s degree in Physics, Biophysics, Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or Health Physics • Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics • Certified Radiation Expert (CRE) in Ohio • Minimum 3+ years of experience in radiation oncology physics Key Responsibilities • Maintain and execute the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance and Safety program • Implement, manage, and maintain all medical physics ancillary QA equipment • Coordinate with alternate physicists to ensure patient care coverage • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards • Consult with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists for treatment planning and review • Administer and maintain all treatment planning and QA software systems • Perform daily, monthly, and annual QA testing on linear accelerators, CT simulators, and treatment planning systems • Oversee dosimetry functions and assist dosimetrists as needed • Participate in high-dose, stereotactic, and specialized treatments (e.g., HyperArc, SBRT, SRS/SRT) • Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory documentation • Lead credentialing, planning, and oversight for clinical trials or protocol participation • Support program growth, accreditations, and new treatment modalities Community – Findlay, OH Findlay offers a welcoming, mid-sized community with a high quality of life.
