Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
Overview: Join a dedicated team at a leading healthcare facility in Findlay, Ohio, known for its commitment to exceptional patient care and advanced technology. We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to provide part-time coverage, where you will play a critical role in developing and applying radiation treatment plans, ensuring the highest standards of precision and safety. As part of a collaborative environment, you’ll leverage your expertise in radiotherapy physics to offer innovative solutions and contribute to ongoing research in treatment options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and execute the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance and Safety program.
- Implement, manage, and maintain all medical physics ancillary QA equipment.
- Coordinate with alternate physicist for on-site patient care coverage and schedule management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to medical physics services.
- Consult with clinical teams to guarantee safe and effective patient treatments.
- Oversee administration of software systems including treatment planning and QA software.
- Perform quality assurance testing on all equipment per regulatory standards.
- Assist and review dosimetry plans, ensuring quality assurance for each patient plan.
- Oversee hyperarc and stereotactic procedures as well as machine maintenance.
- Conduct patient chart reviews and maintain comprehensive records.
- Manage all physics test credentialing and protocol participation.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in physics, biophysics, medical physics, radiological physics, nuclear engineering, or health physics - REQUIRED
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience or completion of clinical Radiation Oncology Residency - REQUIRED
- Eligibility for American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification; must obtain within three years if not currently certified - REQUIRED
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) - REQUIRED
- Eligibility for CRE certification through the state of Ohio - REQUIRED
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active licensure in Ohio - REQUIRED
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Physics.
