The VA Puget Sound Healthcare System (VAPSHCS) is actively recruiting a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist to help care for our veterans – America’s heroes. The selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at the University of Washington at the Assistant to Full Professor rank, commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities

The VA Puget Sound HCS is seeking a full-time Staff Radiation Oncology Medicine Physician with experience for a position at the Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division. The Puget Sound VA HCS, Seattle is a large tertiary care medical center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine.
• You will provide direct patient care as a consultant in outpatient clinics and inpatient wards.
• Clinical equipment includes a True Beam and GE Discovery CT simulator.
• The unit staffing includes 2 Radiation Oncology Physicians, 1 NP, 1 RNs, 2 Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, and 8 Radiation Therapists. Provide clinical instruction for residents/medical students, physicists, and therapists.
• Participate in daily team huddles, weekly chart rounds, weekly Tumor Boards. SRS/SBRT experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens (permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
• Completion of ACGME accredited Radiation Oncology residency
• Board Certified/Eligible American Board of Radiology

Skills

It is expected the candidate will have expertise in Radiation Oncology Medicine and disorders, and the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high quality, evidence-based care to Veterans across the spectrum of disease severity. This includes the ability to identify patient needs and to provide the care needed to promote improvement..
