Locum – Physician – Radiation Oncology – Muskegon, MI ( IMLC accepted)

Overview

An established free-standing cancer center is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to provide locum coverage due to physician turnover. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a Level 2 Trauma community with full support staff and state-of-the-art systems until a permanent provider is hired.

• Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center

• Trauma Level: 2

• Reason for Coverage: Physician turnover

• Other Radiation Oncologist Present: Yes (2 physicians total)

• Support Staff: 1 NP in clinic

• EMR: Aria & Epic

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology – REQUIRED

• Michigan State License or IMLC/LOQ – REQUIRED (no exceptions)

• BLS Certified – REQUIRED

• Must be available for listed coverage dates – REQUIRED

Schedule & Coverage

• Open Dates: Dec 8–12, Dec 15–19, and ongoing (01/01/2025 until permanent hire)

• Work Timings: Mon–Fri 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

• Call Schedule: 24-hour shared with one other physician (Call Ratio 1:2)

• Average Outpatients per Day: 10–15

• Average Inpatients per Day: 0

• Patient Population: Adult & Hospital Based

• Estimated Credentialing: Med staff will credential by start date; payer enrollment ~120 days

Required Procedures

• Conventional Radiotherapy

• 3D Radiotherapy

• External Beam Radiation – 3D-CRT, IGRT, IMRT

• Stereotactic Radiosurgery

• Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)

• Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy

Required Duties: Order tests & images, prescribe treatments
