Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist to provide full-time locum coverage in Dubuque, Iowa. This position involves managing a busy outpatient oncology schedule with advanced treatment modalities, including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and stereotactic radiosurgery. Providers must be available for at least two consecutive weeks per assignment, with preference for candidates who can offer four-week stretches. The role is outpatient-focused with minimal inpatient volume and no call.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform required radiation oncology procedures, including conventional radiotherapy, 3D-CRT, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, and photon beam therapy.
• Collaborate with oncology care teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the Aria EMR system.
• Provide seamless handoffs when alternating with other locum providers.
Qualifications
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC (facility will review candidates needing IA license if offering 4-week coverage).
• Experience with Aria EMR – highly preferred.
• Fully COVID-19 vaccinated – required.
• Ability to start quickly upon credentialing (facility offers temp privileges).
Working Hours
• 8 hours per day, no weekends, no call.
• Coverage typically provided in two-week or four-week blocks.
Skills
• Strong outpatient clinical management skills.
• Ability to work independently without onsite physician support.
• EMR documentation skills (preferably Aria).
• Effective communication and teamwork within oncology care settings.
