Job Title: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
The nationally accredited cancer care program at a leading Cancer Care Institute in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in teaching and training initiatives.
- Engage in treatment procedures, including patient-specific QA, chart QA, and linear accelerator QA.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists for effective treatment planning.
- Calibrate and commission linear accelerators and other radiation sources as needed.
- Implement new technologies and conduct quality assurance of equipment and treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
- Certification by American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
- Willingness to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Excellent work ethic and team collaboration skills.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must be or willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- IA license (or willingness to obtain).
