Job Title: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

The nationally accredited cancer care program at a leading Cancer Care Institute in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. Join a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional care and treatment in a state-of-the-art clinic setting. Enjoy a fulfilling career with no weekend shifts and an on-call schedule of 1:2, while working with advanced technology and a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
  • Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in teaching and training initiatives.
  • Engage in treatment procedures, including patient-specific QA, chart QA, and linear accelerator QA.
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists for effective treatment planning.
  • Calibrate and commission linear accelerators and other radiation sources as needed.
  • Implement new technologies and conduct quality assurance of equipment and treatment plans.

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
  • Certification by American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
  • Willingness to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
  • Excellent work ethic and team collaboration skills.
  • Clean malpractice history.
  • Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Must be or willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
  • Clean malpractice history.
  • IA license (or willingness to obtain).
