Job Title: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
The nationally accredited cancer care program at a prominent Cancer Care Institute in Davenport, IA, is seeking a dedicated Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety, quality patient care, and contribute to educational activities per regulatory and medical community standards.
- Oversee treatment procedures, patient-specific QA, chart QA, and linear accelerator QA.
- Perform calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources.
- Participate in plan checks and implement new technologies as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team comprising physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and medical staff.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
- Must be or willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to stay current with advancements in radiation oncology.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
- IA license or willingness to obtain.
