Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician – Redding, CA
A hospital in Redding, California is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Hematologist/Oncologist to provide coverage in an outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center with hospital consult responsibilities.
Position Overview

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center with hospital consults

Patient Volume: Approximately 15–20 patients per day
-
Admissions: 15–20 per day
-
EMR: iKnowMed (clinic) and Cerner (infusion center)
Clinical Responsibilities
-
Diagnose, stage, and manage hematology and oncology patients across all tumor types
-
Provide precision medicine, treatment planning, and symptom management
-
Oversee both the oncology clinic and infusion services
-
Perform hospital consults with admissions coordinated through the ER physician or hospitalist team

Physician must be onsite in the infusion center during treatments

Chemotherapy and immunotherapy

Blood and platelet transfusions

Hormone therapy
-
Antibiotic therapy

Rheumatoid arthritis injections

Therapeutic phlebotomies
Practice Support

Solo physician provider with midlevel support for patient flow and orders

Clinic staff includes RN, medical assistants, front office staff, quality/billing analyst, and 10 infusion nurses
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
-
Active California license required
-
Hematology/Oncology fellowship required
-
DEA required
-
ACLS required if requesting moderate sedation privileges
