A well-established medical center in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a Locum-to-Perm Hematologist Oncologist to provide inpatient and outpatient coverage across two affiliated hospital sites. This opportunity offers a balanced 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule with call responsibilities and a strong clinical support structure.
The practice focuses on comprehensive hematology and oncology care including chemotherapy management, end-of-life care, and collaborative specialty coordination.
Job Responsibilities
• Inpatient coverage at two hospital locations
• Manage patient assessments and treatment planning
• Oversee chemotherapy management and therapy adjustments
• Provide end-of-life and palliative care coordination
• Collaborate with oncology specialists and ancillary services
• Participate in telehealth services as needed
• Utilize EPIC EMR
Qualifications
• Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology – Required
• Active Iowa License or IMLC – Required
• Experienced provider – Required
• Clean malpractice and background history – Required
• Must be willing to work at both hospital sites
Working Hours
• Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• 4–5 clinic days per week
• On-call responsibilities (schedule TBD)
• Daily Clinic Volume: 10–30 patients
• Average Hospital Census: 10–15
