A well-established cancer center in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology physician for locum coverage due to provider departure. This role offers a balanced mix of benign hematology and malignant oncology in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
The practice is supported by a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers, utilizing Epic EMR for comprehensive patient management.Job Responsibilities
• Manage approximately 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology cases
• See an average of 25 outpatient visits per day
• Participate in hospital rounding (average 20 patients when applicable)
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
• Manage bone marrow transplant patients and blood bank coordination
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Prescribe and manage oncology treatment plans
• Collaborate with nurse oncologists for chemotherapy administration
• Document all care in Epic EMR
Qualifications
• Active South Carolina medical license (Required)
• Active BLS certification (Required)
• Active DEA registration (Required)
• Clean background required
• Most recent NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) required at presentation
Working Hours
• If transitioning to permanent, call schedule would be 1 week every 6–8 weeks
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
Skills
• Experience in tumor board participation
• Bone marrow transplant management knowledge
• Excellent outpatient and inpatient care coordination
• EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
