A well-established cancer program in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a Locum-to-Perm opportunity due to provider departure. This role offers the ability to practice within a collaborative, multidisciplinary oncology team serving adult and geriatric patients.

The practice includes a strong support structure with seven physicians and six advanced practice providers, providing a balanced mix of benign hematology (65%) and malignant oncology (35%). The locum period includes no call responsibilities, with structured call expectations upon transition to permanent placement

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient hematology/oncology care
• Manage approximately 25 outpatient visits per day
• Participate in hospital rounding (approximately 20 patients during call coverage)
• Diagnose and treat benign hematologic and malignant oncologic conditions
• Participate in Tumor Board discussions
• Manage bone marrow transplant cases and coordinate with Blood Bank services
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Prescribe and oversee oncology treatment plans
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation
• Collaborate with oncology-certified nursing staff who administer chemotherapy

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology (Required)
• Active South Carolina medical license (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Active DEA registration (Required)
• Clean background required
• NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation (Required)
• Must be open to Locum-to-Perm transition

Working Hours

• Outpatient-focused schedule
• No call during locum period
• Upon permanent placement: 1 week of call every 6–8 weeks
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60 days
