Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Radiation Oncology Physician to provide locums coverage at a well-established outpatient radiation oncology program in Reston, Virginia. This role offers a predictable schedule, advanced technology, and a manageable patient volume in a highly desirable Northern Virginia location.
Coverage Details
- Schedule: 8-hour days
- Coverage: 4 days per week
- Outpatient-based practice
- No overnight call required
Patient Volume
- Average 5–10 patients per day
- Approximately 90% of current cases are osteoarthritis-related
- Consistent, low-to-moderate daily census allowing for high-quality patient care
Technology & Equipment
- 100% of volume treated on Varian TrueBeam
- Advanced capabilities including:
- SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
- SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
- HyperArc
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage radiation oncology patients
- Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans
- Provide on-treatment visits and follow-up care
- Collaborate with physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and clinical staff
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Radiation Oncology
- Active Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with SRS, SBRT, and advanced linear accelerator platforms preferred
