Medical Oncology Job Details

• Practice Setting: Free-standing cancer center
• Location: Greenville, SC (29601) – South Carolina oncology jobs in a lively city with excellent dining, arts, and outdoor activities
• Employment Type: Locum tenens physician (Travel/Contract)
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (8-hour days)
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $7,100 – $8,410
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Average Outpatient Census: 25 patients/day
• Average Inpatient Census (Call/Rounding): 20 patients/day
• Call Schedule: No call required during locum period
• Team: 7 oncology physicians, 6 advanced practice providers (APPs)
• EMR: EPIC

Medical Oncology Physician Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
• Active South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain (South Carolina physician jobs)
• BLS and DEA certification
• Clean background required for emergency credentialing
• Current NPDB report
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical oncology or hematology oncology

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions
• Manage bone marrow transplant cases and oversee blood bank operations
• Order diagnostic tests, imaging, and prescribe oncology treatments
• Collaborate with nurse oncologists and APPs for chemotherapy administration
• Deliver compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
