Seeking a Locum Medical Oncologist for ASAP coverage at a busy outpatient cancer center in Grand Rapids, MI. The role primarily focuses on lung cancer, with some general/benign hematology support, and offers strong APP and specialty support.

Supported by 6 physicians and 10 APPs (inpatient and outpatient)

Chemotherapy administered by Nurse Oncologists

Trauma Level II facility
Schedule & Coverage
-
ASAP start
-
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
-
Call: 1 in 5
-
Weekday evenings: telephone only
-
Weekends: rounding with APP support

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days
Clinical Volume
-
Outpatient: 8–16 patients/day
-
Inpatient rounding census: ~22 patients across 2 hospitals

Includes 4–5 new patients/day
Required Duties & Procedures

Tumor Board participation
-
Orders tests and imaging
-
Prescribes medications
-
FNA/Biopsy experience required
Candidate Requirements
-
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Medical Oncology – REQUIRED
-
Active MI license – highly preferred (providers needing to obtain will be reviewed)

BLS – REQUIRED
