Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute and Cancer Center of South Florida are working together to provide personalized patient care with state-of-the-art medical treatments and seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Medical Oncologist specializing in Neuro Oncology to join its team in a growing practice in Tampa, Florida.

Our program is an academic program with most faculty being affiliated with the University of South Florida (USF)’s Morsani College of Medicine in beautiful Tampa Bay, Florida. The program has a heavy focus on excellent and world class inpatient and outpatient clinical care while also being very active in Clinical Trials Research and Basic Science Translational Research. We welcome Clinician Scientists and candidates who desire to join a very dynamic, clinically busy and Nationally Ranked Academic Health System, teaching hospital and College of Medicine. This candidate will have an opportunity to join an already built Neuro Oncology Program with excellent culture.

The Cancer Institute is part of NRG Oncology and the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology Alliance). The program also has several Neuro Oncology trained APPs and is conducting active Neuro Oncology Clinical Trials.


There is a mechanism to develop Translational Research via USF Health and collaborative efforts with other faculty at TGH / USF. There is a robust integration with other multi-disciplinary team members and intersections with other programs (as USF Department of Neuro Surgery and the USF Department of Radiation Oncology). This is a “Destination Site” Program that a candidate could envision building a career at and having a long-term presence. Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have an MD degree
  • Completion of a neuro-oncology fellowship
  • Training and/or clinical experience in neuro-medical oncology is required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Candidates will show evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research, and patient care experience in medical oncology.
  • Multiple years of experience in clinical neuro-oncology is preferred.
  • Leadership experience of a Neuro portfolio in medical oncology would be ideal.
  • Nationally or internationally recognized clinical trial experience is ideal.
  • Academic experience with extramural grants, clinical research collaborations, and/or training programs is ideal.

Certifications:
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
  • Must be board certified or eligible for certification by the ABIM in Medical Oncology
