JOB OVERVIEW
  • Job Title: Medical Oncologist
  • Job Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
  • Location: Mountain Home, AR
  • Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient Cancer Center
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: Weekday clinic and hospital responsibilities
  • On-Call Shift Schedule: 1:4 call rotation
  • Call Ratio: 1:4
  • Call Response Time: As required for inpatient oncology needs

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adults with cancer diagnoses
  • Patient Volume/Census: To be determined; shared with 1 physician and 1 APP
  • Case Mix: General medical oncology and hematology

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • On-Site Services: - Laboratory - Imaging (CT, PET, X-Ray, Ultrasound) - On-site Pharmacy - Infusion Services - Radiation Oncology
  • Support Staff Available: 1 Physician and 1 Advanced Practice Provider

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

  • Administration of chemotherapy and other systemic therapies
  • Coordination with infusion and radiation oncology teams

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Arkansas medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Certifications: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
  • Experience: Preferred but open to new graduates
  • Other Qualifications: - Excellent multidisciplinary collaboration skills - Commitment to compassionate and evidence-based cancer care

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient oncology services
  • Collaborate with infusion, radiation, pharmacy, and imaging teams
  • Participate in call rotation (1:4)
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives in cancer care
  • Contribute to program growth and community outreach at Baxter Health
